Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters, roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.
Psalm 46:1-3
As many of you have heard by now this week has been quite a natural disaster time here on the East coast of the US. First we had a 5.9 magnitude earthquake and now hurricane Irene is heading our way. Many people have and will be effected by the events this week and it is a great time to reflect on how the Lord never leaves us or forsakes us. You might ask but your not the one who has a car crushed or home flooded. Events in our lives change from day to day and even hour to hour, that is why it is a good time to look back to the last time events impacted your life. What was the outcome of thoughts events? Did you pray about it? Did the "Body of Christ", the church come and give comfort? Did you ask for help or did you try to fix it by yourself?Chances are if the outcome was good or not devastating, you gave the problem over to the Lord. It might not have been as good as before but you also learned to lean of the strength of the Lord and have felt the mercy of His goodness. God will get you through these events and also through a tough economy. Just as when we were children and we ran to the arms of our parents in a storm, so the Lord is looking for us to run to Him. So when you waiting in line for gas today be in pray and thank Him for that car, the money to buy the gas and for His comfort. Make pray be the first part of the emergence preparation kit for this weekend. And if you do, you may just find the joy you can get in times likes these.
